Fashion Digest: Madonna A Virgin Again?; Proenza on Art?; Anna And Grace Dolls?

It seems like forever since I posted an update on fashion. Well, the last week hadn't been kind to me. As you might have read the previous post. It wasn't smooth sailing but I have to say, I did act like a drama queen. Oh well, we all have times like this. Plus, this semester's assignments are crazy! Maybe this is how you feel like in your final year (3rd). Well it's a first for me - like a virgin. Now speaking of a virgin, who better to represent than Queen Madonna.
____________________________________
Madonna A Virgin Again?
Well, we all know that she is everything but a virgin. But this time she just might be one. Well, I'm not sure whether she did it beforre but for fashion, I'm pretty sure that it is the first for her - excluding the Vogue MV because it's a MV?
Well, back to the topic, Madonna did a accidental directing for this season's Miu Miu commercial. When I say accidental, it is. It was like any good old day when Madonna stormed into the Miu Miu campaign shoot to invite photog Mert and Marcus for dinner.

When she was there, she just decided that she wants to direct the commercial for Miu Miu and then the crew said she won't be paid, in case she wants it. When agreed on the non-payment deal (She's Madonna and she's rich!), she whipped her iPod out and directed. Typical queen. She gets what she want when she wants it.
I think she did quite a good job. Well, must say it is a typical Madonna-esque music video.

Proenza Schouler on Art?
The much anticipated skinny by Jack and Lazaro for J Brand finally hits the stores - online. The pieces were grafitti'ed to perfection sold for $550 per piece.

You might think they're nuts to sell them for that price. But check this out, the jeans are individually hand painted.
Whoever buys these jeans would have a special disclaimer, "wash carefully only by hands and never iron!". You wouldn't want to machine wash $550 away.
So this might be considered as art but it's still just jeans or is it? Would you buy an over $500 jeans to wear or hang it in your wall as art?

I say they make fine pieces for your lounge.

Anna and Grace Dolls
Tired of the Bratz and Barbies? Well, here's an alternate doll for fashionistas in New York. Barneys recently commissioned artist, Andrew Yang to create these one of a kind couture dolls of Vogue editors - Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington.

These dolls are all hand sewn and painted to perfection. Couture dolls. Even they're hair were made exclusively to fit. Andrew had to special order a wig for Anna and personally cut the bob out and Grace's hair were actually permed and not factory made. Truly exquisite but I think there's two more missing. Andre Leon Talley and Toone Goodman. They would make a fine group of dolls.

These dolls will be auctioned off on Aug 31st on Charity Buzz for the New York City Aids Fund.

Fashion Digest: No More Rip-Offs; Pixie Hermione; Dolce and Gabbana for Beach Soccer

Another week come and went away, here's another digest for you. I know I haven't post my couture views yet and S/S 2011 is coming in 3 weeks or so. Apologies for that but here's something to pacify you at the moment. Am working on couture and will post soon if possible.

__________________________

No More Rip-Offs
There had been much debate of intellectual property since a few years ago, from music, art to fashion. Now New York Senator Charles E. Schumer introduced a bill named, "Innovative Design Protection and Piracy Prevention Act." to the US Senate. This provides limited protection to authentic designs and prevent knock-offs.

For famous brands, this might not be much of a problem like the monograms from LV, Gucci or Burberry. They have the money and their patterns are internationally recognized and patented. But for most designers, where their collections may be original and still get knocked off by fast fashion retailers. So this law would protect their design for three years as soon as production starts, so brands like Zara wouldn't be able to knock off Proenza Schouler's PS1 bag or Allen Schwartz would might knock off Vera Wang's dress for Chelsea Clinton.

Here's one example of knock offs:

__________________________

Pixie Hermione
The world is buzzing about the new look of our beloved Hermione. Well Emma Watson. She is known for her role as Harry Potter's trio Hermione Granger, hence the image of long wavy brunette curls is at mind. But now Emma went pixie like Mia Farrow and Twiggy.

The entertainment gossips blows the horn of rebellious age and the star spiral like her fellow teen stars, LiLo, Cyrus and Britney. But rest assured none of these tragedy would befall Emma, in my opinion. Personally I think it's just a hair cut, a change of style after god knows how long of the same hair-cut, mainly for the Hermione image.

Now since the movie is at its end, why not a new hair cut to go ways from the typical Hermione face? I see Emma as the Ivy League actress like Bosworth or Julia rather than the diva dive and die route of Lilo, Britney or Cyrus.

She has a bright future ahead and who knows, the next Gywneth, Julia, Bosworth or Meryl?

__________________________
Dolce and Gabbana for Beach Soccer
Well, it's safe to say that Domenico and Stefano would be the stars in sports, particularly beach soccer or just soccer. First landing a design contract with Chelsea and now Milan Beach Soccer. They definitely have a hand in sportswear designs. Take a look at these sketches below and these designs from my previous post.
The first is the uniform for beach soccer, simple brief and a beach towel. A coming to play outfit next with two versions, a hot day with sleeveless and if not, take the deep V neck with shorts.
If it gets wet in a rainy day, pop into the jumper hoodie and get back in the game.
Lastlook is for the time when you finish the game and wants to party out or maybe a simple dinner with your mates.
And all of those is in Dolce and Gabbana, 'bien sûr!'

Well, that's the little things I could share with you now and stay tune for more.
Ciao!

Fashion Digest: FNO Everywhere; NY London Showdown!; The Cat Mius

Another digest after almost a week of absence, I am so sorry. I have lots to share but just can't decide on what yet. I have digests, couture, noetic science (Yes I know what it is) and more. So before I figure out which to post, it is already Friday and yet another weekend with no internet. So bear with me.

So let's start digesting some fabulousness!

__________________________

FNO Everywhere
As all of you fashion die-hard should know, Fashion's Night Out is storming in September and not just New York. This year around, it's going international, even Sydney has it but no definite news on that.

By the way, if anyone in New York reads this, please help me get the FNO t-shirt and jumper,  want it so badly!!

So I'm here to share some of the happenings that might excite you for the event.

NYC
  • The Olsens will be in attendance to help the Proenza boys and Simon Doonan judge an in-store karaoke contest (The prize is a Proenza Schouler bag and The Row leather leggings).
  • Rachel Zoe will be on hand for the launch of Piperlime’s first ever pop-up shop. Location TBD.
  • Doonan has designed his own Havaiana flip flop, and each person who perchases a Havaiana/Doonan flip will be able to ask the store’s creative director one question. So ask wisely.
  • Go head-to-head against the designers of Rag & Bone, Rogan and Shipley & Halmos in a ping pong tournament.
  • Daphne Guinness will be signing perfume bottles
  • Andrew Yang will be exhibiting a collection of about 50 rag doll replicas of runway looks.
  • Bergdorf Goodman’s festivities are set to include a cook-off with the FDNY and a cabaret with Isaac Mizrahi.
  • Bergdorf’s will also be launching a line of exclusive New York-inspired products, including ten coats by ten different designers (including Phillip Lim and Rag & Bone among others); and a pair of TOMS shoes that feature a NYC skyline.
Berlin
  • Concept store The Corner Shop is feting the launch of the new Isabella Blow book by Thames & Hudson.
  • Galeries Lafayette Berlin will present Michael Kors‘ new Ready To Wear collection.
  • Plus, the department store is throwing an in-house casting and photo shoot for shoppers in order to find potential models for a Galeries Lafayette fashion show taking place September 30.

London

  • The West End will be the destination for Londoners. UK’s FNO promises designers and models to mingle with, “expert styling from the Vogue team,” and “superstar” appearances.
Paris
  • Avenue Montaigne, where LVMH owns a substantial amount of real estate, will be the home of Paris’ main FNO activities.
**More updates will be posted again soon =)

New York London Showdown!
So New York has always been the city with the largest amount of international brand concentration but not for long apparently. London is sounding its trumpets and challenging that thought. A business advocacy group predicted that London will override New York as the best shopping city. Personally I love New York, different atmosphere compared to London.

I think there's no competition. London's more old times and serene feel (in a way, just very British) and New York is more hip, chic and modern. So it's hard to compare but I would love to be in New York. What's your take? Click for more!

The Cat Mius?
If you know fashion, you would have guessed what the title means. Ring any bells? Some catnip might refresh your memory. Of course we are talking about Miu Miu (Prada's sub collection). So what happen was 4 different fashion mag covers featured this ruffled bust with flower applique dress within a month's time. A big achievement all thanks to Miu Miu's PR team, now named "Wily Foxes".

So thumbs up for Miu Miu. And which do you think is the best cover? I go for Lily Allen/Elle cover or Freja in Vogue British! What's your take?

So that's all for now, and I'll post soon. A coverage on couture and a take on noetic science, perhaps? Writing soon!

Fashion Digest: Manly Gaga; Gisele on 30; Rolling Pants

Okay a short digest for the weekend. I'll probably post more next week since I have no internet whatsoever in the weekend. You can catch me on Twitter @calvinchong (follow me if you wish) where I might post more fashion news with my mobile or just news about plain old me.
So this weekend digest, I have an old news, a not so old one and a seam for thought (pun for food for thought?)

__________________________

Manly GAGA
So as some of you might know, Gaga finally went for her transgendering process. Well, not really but it's close. She gender bend herself for Vogue Hommes Japan. From Gaga to Jo Calderone, she made yet another mind blasting transformation to add on to her already long list of weird profiles. The shoot was photographed by Nick Knight, I have to say Lady Gaga makes a better man than woman. She looks more, well, normal compared to herself. This alter ego is gonna widen her already huge fan base. The shoot will be featured in the September 2010 issue.

Take a look. Does Gaga look manly or what?

__________________________

Gisele on 30
As an avid fan of Gisele, of course I am gonna share this piece of news with you. Gisele just celebrated her 30th birthday a few days back. Well, one thing's for sure, she might be 30 but she doesn't look a day older than 21. Agreed?
Well, happy birthday to Gisele and hope she's back in modeling and stay for a while. That being said, after being pregnant and 30, she bagged quite a few covers and campaigns. There's Cavalli, and Calzedonia for campaigns. Muse, i-D, Vogue Mexico and Korea all featured her in covers and spreads. You go, Gisele!
Well, as a show of respect and admiration, style.com posted some of the best videos of her. Especially love the interview with Bruno.
Go here to watch the rest, I have Bruno covered below:

Now, I read this over at NYTimes online and thought it's something worth sharing with my little to none readers. I'm not sure about some of the countries that you, readers are form but don't you realized rolling pants are the It thing this season. Aussies are all into it now.

BTW, rolling pants literally just mean rolling up your pants to ankle height to reveal some ankle/skin with no socks on or low cut ones.

So the question is do you think it's a fab or flop?
Well, I think it can be both. It's really chic and all but with the wrong top and shoes, you might just be in a fashion faux pas. Read the article to do learn the ways of rolling pants. Link again!

I totally agree with the article, it's a very subtle art to learn. Be careful with that. Take a look at Exhibit A(far left) from above. Hot pink pants never worked for me, and a military badge on a polo tee to match is just too bad. Exhibit B and C works fine. Chic and nicely done but I might consider a change of shoes. Not sure what to change into but it looks weird to me.

Word to the wise, think of body proportions before you do it.  I've seen bad things happen to those who don't. Think and roll wisely. Another thing, don't roll your bootleg jeans, better yet just burn them. Bootleg had been out of the field for out a while if you didn't notice.

Here's another two good ones:

Simple, chic and modern. Very summer and cool.

Well, that's all and stay tune. See you next week. I'll try to get online in the weekends if possible.

Fashion Digest: Fashionable Google; Granny Fendi?; Hamish in Upper East Side?

First I have to apologize yet again for the lack of post last week or so. I have some problems with my internet connection at home, thus the hiatus. And I was not starting class till two days ago which I have another problem with connecting with university WiFi. Finally yesterday, I got it all resolved.

As of now, I have only campus WiFi to work on my blog and go online, so bear with me, people. I would probably get back my home connection in a couple of weeks, two probably. So before that happens, I will be trying my best to find time to post more using campus connection.

As I am ranting here, I am in the library study corner where they have plug points to charge my mac. A misuse of space, but hey, I'm a journalist/blogger. It's part of my assignment to blog too. Okay, now to my fashion digest which might be old news but nevertheless I thought it's worth sharing.

______________________________

Fashionable Google
Finally a recognition from one of the online powerhouse, Google to all the fashion bloggers out there. Cheers to us then. Fashion bloggers gained high reputations from the industry from the past year or so. Famous bloggers like bryanboy and Tavi got invited to couture and ready to wear shows from brands like Marc Jacobs and Chanel.

Vogue recognizes fashion bloggers in their March Power Issue. Article called "Logged On". And now more and more come to realize the impact of bloggers. True, it might not replace magazine but it definitely have their own space in this industry.

So Google launched this program called GStyle to get to know more about fashion bloggers. According to them, fashion bloggers understands the social media more than the ones covering other fields. Damn right! So now they want to know more about how fashion bloggers use the internet to better improve their service.

Granny Fendi?
Ilaria Venturini Fendi, one of the Fendi daughters made some wacky bags for Carmina Campus. She needs to learn from Sylvia, I guess? That is just whack! Maybe it's not in her genes?

The first thing it reminded me was the old rugs that most Malaysian or maybe Asians have at their toilet doors. My house used to have like a million of those.

This is so not working for me. A piece of toilet rug slapped into a weekend tote. Hmm... Maybe it's just me, because I've seen the worst of those rugs. Maybe other people, most likely the West side would have another view to it. What's your take?

______________________________

Hamish in Upper East Side?
Okay, Gossip Girl had been out of my life for quite sometime. Everything just got a tad bit too boring for me. Hadn't been keeping up since a few episodes of season 3. But after hearing this news, I might just watch it again.
So it is official (or so I think) that Hamish Bowles, European Editor at Large for American Vogue will be starring in one of Gossip Girls episodes. now that is something new to me. The photo here is allegedly taken during one of the shootings.

Also the all so fabulous event of the year, Fashion's Night Out will be featured in the series as well. That two reasons is enough for me to watch Gossip Girl again. I wonder how good is Hamish's acting skills?

______________________________

Well, that's all for now. And I know that I have not post up any couture coverage and I promise by tomorrow evening (Aus time) it will be up.

In the mean time, I will post up some interesting fashion related videos in the next post just to keep you entertained.

Fashion Digest: Editorial Shifts in Fashion; Who's Front in Sept Issues; Pushing Through The Econs

Okay, while waiting for the Proenza Schouler Live Interview to start at ShowStudio, I have some digest for you people out there. A short one just to get through the 25 minutes of waiting. So this time, I have for you the major shifts in the fashion industries editorial, revealing the front covers of most September Issues and the struggles of fashion brands in their finance.

Editorial Shifts in Fashion
So first off is the editorial shifts that had been going on a lot for the past month or so. Important figures in our beloved magazines had shifted to greener pastures. One of them is Sally Singer who went from Vogue to T Magazine landing as the editor-in-chief. Florence Kane and Patrick O'Connell left Vogue too for a step up to better positions.
Stefano Tonchi from T to head the W magazine. Just to name a few. I have a chart here for you to look at. I know it's probably too confusing to make it out. Go to Fashionista.com for the detailed rundown.

_____________________________

Who's Front in Sept Issues
Now I have finally got my confirmation on the cover for Vogue's September. It is gonna be Halle Berry, famous actress that won Oscars for her performance in Monster Ball. Let's not forget her controversial cast as Cat Woman. She is the second black woman who will grace the cover - after Naomi Campbell. Now I don't really agree on having her as the September's cover. It is the January for fashion and most important issue of all.

I said it once and I'll say it again.

To have a black woman front it is a good recognition for all races in the world and she is a good actress. But I think maybe someone like Iman is better. She did win the Fashion Icon Award for CFDA, and who better to grace the cover than her for a fashion issue.  the compiled list of cover girls for most September issues of the fashion world.

Anyhow if I knew why, i would be Anna and head Vogue. But I'm not, there must be a good reason on this. So I just have to accept it then.

For the other magazines cover girl, go to FASHIONISTA.COM

Pushing Through The Econs
And the last is on two labels, Prada and Armani. Well, as you all know the past year had known been well financially. Now it is announced that Prada is getting a loan of $455M to cover their debts and recover from the financial crisis blow.

And Armani said that their earnings dropped for 09. That being said, they are flourishing in China like most high end brands. It seems that Chinese have the buying power now. Even models like Chanel Iman flies to China now to grace Vogue China's editorials.

I guess, us Chinese are powerful now, huh? Though I am not from China, I feel good about it. Bite me.
Let's hope that the crisis will be over soon. And what is not better to help than this year's FASHION"S NIGHT OUT event. I think most of you know about it. And good news is although the event was a NY based event, it is gonna be internationally celebrated this year. From NY, Miami to London, Sydney and more. Check the FASHION'S NIGHT OUT website.

Good luck people! Kill economy crisis!

That's all for now and I have exactly 5 minutes before the interview starts.

Epic Fail

So a while ago, this crazy ad came on the net from Reebonz.com. A Singapore based company that sells high end branded fashion products at discounted price.

So what they came up with what a 99% luxury sale for its members. Of course I am extremely excited about it. Can't stop thinkingabout it for quite a while. Imagine this, Marc Jacobs Multi Zipper tote for 8AUD. YSL Safety Pin Tote for 3AUD. Prada Saffiano Sling Bag for 8AUD.

For fashionistas/nistos, this is an event to die for. So came the day which is today. I eagerly stood by my computer since 4pm (it starts at 6pm). As it nears the time, I clicked refresh on the webite - yup, been refreshing since 5.30pm. It couldn't log in. Nothing is loading.

Tried for the next 5 minutes and I couldn't get anything, and off to Facebook to check it. A tream of wall post on their fanpage with people saying that it does not work. The website crashed! So I tried and tried for an hour, and finally got into it. No doubt the sale was magnificent.

I came across a few items to buy but the sale allows 1 item per user. I have the Prada sling, YSL tote, Marc Jacobs zipper tote and Marc Jacobs duffel bag to choose from. The moment I clicked it took another few refreshing to load. When I got into the item's page, takes 5 minutes to add to cart. When I want to check out, it says there's no item even though I added to cart.

Fine, repeat the process a few times, and finally went to check out. YAY!

Wait a sec, I have all the items I tried to add but though failed in my list, but I went ahead to pay without caring how many was there. I had three of the YSL and four Prada in my list. CLick pay and nothing happened.

REFRESH again and occasionally pops out the note saying I have no items. Tried to remove all the items except for one, didn't work. The freaking website does not work! ARGH!

It was majorly frustrating. Worst than doing my final assignments. God. How can the website be so dumb. If you can't handle this much users, limit it. Find a solution like

1. Limit the amount of RSVPs for the event

2. Upgrade your website's server

Now they closed the website to "FIGURE" out the problem. Apparently not much was sold and they will resume the event again! GOD! These people. Getting our hopes up and drop us into the pits of hell. Feel like crying now. Bwah!!!!

Anyway, I will still try when it's back on. Seriously, who can turn off such a deal, if you get it that is.
Just a shoutout to relieve my grief and anger.

Ciao people!

Fashion Digest: Armor is the new black!; Louis Vuitton Tattoos?; Ken Overshadows Barbie?

After a week of hiatus, I am back with more digest, some of them are last week's news but I thought I should share it. it is quite intriguing for me. Enjoy, babes!

  _____________________________

Ken Overshadows Barbie?
Now we all know the famous celebrity couple Ken and Barbie, the perfect couple that all kids love. Well that being said, Barbie had always been the limelight between the two. It's a normal celeb thing that happens to all Hollywood couples - Ken was like a backdrop.

But recently, Ken stole the limelight from Barbie when he got a more prominent role in the film, Toy Story 3. Yup, he got double the dialogues than Barbie and he plays the bad guy turned good.

That is the best moment for Ken and definitely boost his resume. Later he was shot by Esquire UK magazine. A six page spread in the world renowned mens magazine. He is at the top of his game. let's just hope that Barbie takes it well.

Prada, Gucci and Burberry created exclusive outfits just for Ken for this shoot. Talk about high end doll fashion.

Ken in Burberry Prorsum.

_____________________________

Armor is the new black!
I think it is official now. Armor inspired jackets are the new black for the season. Most notably in menswear as I had shown you in my previous posts. Armor inspired outfits had been done before but not on my watch. So I find it rather exciting.

True. It might be done before but it was forgotten for some time and it's making a comeback now.

And this new exciting piece from Lacoste is just breathtaking. The creator Li XiaoFeng definitely had the edge for making porcelain like polos. So those who has antique vases that was broken to pieces, bring it to Li and you get your self a fab shirt.

I wonder where can I get something like this or the Burberry Terracotta in a lower end brand. That's life of a student for you. Broke as ever.

_____________________________

Louis Vuitton Tattoos?
Thought of getting a tattoo youself? Well Try this one. Louis Vuitton tattoos, nothing better to express your love to the brand than to brand yourself with it. Alright, am joking here.

Thess tatts were for the LV's menswear show recently, done by Scott Campbell who did Marc Jacobs tattoos too. Now, not only did he do the tattoos for the models, he was also asked to design patterns for a series of bags for the mens collection. A chinese Kilin (eastern take on unidorn) inspired tattoo embedded to the bags. They have it in patent leather and also in the Damier Canvas a.k.a LV checker.

Well, that all for now. Next post would be on Haute Couture! It has begun!!

Noble Farewell

Finally read the copy of Vogue US (July). Got it a few days ago, curse Australia's air freight. Anyway the best article of July is the "Noble Farewell" by Hamish Bowles.
It is a parting article as a tribute to the late Alexander McQueen and his last collection.

With a three page spread styled by Grace Coddington and photographed by Annie Leibovitz, it is simply divine!
Always loved Grace's styling and direction. This time it really brings out the essence of the collection and perfectly befitting the title - Noble Farewell.

Read the article here:> Noble Farewell

On another note: Get this divine book of McQueen. Fabulous coffee table reading!

Fashion Digest: Coco Rocha's I do!; McQueen VS Cadbury?; A.Wang's New Crib

Another digest coming up before supper. Actually I wanted to post this up last night but was dead tired and slept early. So this week we have Coco Rocha's wedding gown, a showdown between Alexander McQueen and Cadbury, and finally Alexander Wang's new 2 million dollar loft at Tribeca.

___________________________

First off, Coco Rocha. Congratulations for tieing the knot! She got married in a French castle at June 9. Super private event with 50 guests. It was incredibly intimate until all the news and blogs talks about her dress.
There had been many guesses of what Coco was going to wear for her nuptials with James Conran. Most people thought it was gonna be Zac Posen because she was quite close to him recently. You can see that when she wore Zac's design for more than one occassion - MET ball for example?
So the rumors are indeed true, Coco wore a white mermaid tail gown made with possibly vintage fabrics by Zac Posen. She looked like an angel in it. 10 of 10 wedding points for her!
With a gown that angelic and married to a man she loves in a French castle is simply divine. Hopefully we'll see more of the gown and the wedding soon from her OH SO COCO blog. She had not update for the longest time.

___________________________

After the happy wedding news, I have for you a showdown between Alexander McQueen and Cadbury. Yes, you heard me! Cadbury, the chocolate with their new chocolate flake bar. Remember the amazing Fall/Winter show at 2006 by McQueen? Let me refresh for those who have no clue. During 2006, McQueen ended his F/W show with a hologram of Kate Moss floating in the air in a delicate and fragile gown. Mainly to support her after her drug controversy.
Back to the story, so the guy who made that hologram, Ballie Walsh directed a new commercial for Cadbury that looks 90% or more similar to the Kate Moss Hologram. That made Gucci Group wonder whether to sure or not. If I were Gucci Group, I'll look at the contract signed and hopefully rake some cash from it.

Here's the two video, What do you think? :

___________________________

Last on my list is Alexander Wang's new loft at Tribeca. Wang got the house for $2 million recently after selling his apartment in the East Village for 750k. No way is better than to buy an expensive loft to show your success. After all, he won the Swarovski Award for Accessories Designer and he is the talk of NYC since he came about with his first cashmere collection. Way to go, Wang!

___________________________

The last one is probably short but what else to say? Some news site say it's bad for him since the East Village is more lively and culturally inspired compared to Tribeca which is more dead. But who wouldn't want a new shiny apartment to live better? Anyways, that's all in this digest.

Fashion Digest: Christian Dior Eyes, Dolce and Gabbana iPad Cover, Another side of Megan Fox

It's been a while since my last fashion digest. Mainly because there's not much news to post in a digest and even if I had news, it's all worthy of their own post. So here's something for your digestion. Enjoy!

First on the docket is the brand new Christian Dior Eyes. now you have probably seen a million types of contact lenses. Normal ones, colored ones, fancy cat eyes, black pupil enhancing and now the new one. Christian Dior recently released a pair of fabulous contact lenses, with CD on the lens. If you are a person of high end brand, why not add a pair of designer brand contact lenses. With CD on your eyes, there's also the gold shining in your eyes. Definitely fabulous from head to top.

Dolce&Gabbana iPad Case N*1?

After Oscar De La Renta, Dolce and Gabbana released their second version of iPad bags. The first was a bulky briefcase design. Not portable or very usable. But the new one, it's perfect. A thickness of a file with more than just a iPad slot. Now you can put important documents and credit cards in it as well. It's like a XL version of your wallet. Not bad! This design is better because it's more unisex compared to Oscar's design which is more feminine. What do you think?

Dolce&Gabbana iPad Case N*2
__________________________

Megan Fox had never been my good side even before she was in Transformers.  Men would normally go crazy on her but for me, she's always too sexual for my taste. My kind of beauty is someone like Gisele, Natalia, Coco, or Chanel Iman. I like the eccentric/exotic beauty. Plus, sometimes she looked like a man to me. No offense, just my thoughts. But the recent release of her shoot with June/July Interview Magazine changed my mind. She does have that appeal that I always like. Maybe she's not that bad after all. We'll see in the future. Now in this editorial, she look more eccentric than the classic sex sell look. I don't blame her, maybe her PR decides that only sex sells for her until now.

__________________________

That's all the digest today. On the other hand, I have a new obsession. Something I cannot buy, that's why it's an obsession. The McQueen bag I saw in Reebonz, a while ago. Too expensive but someday I will be able to get it. Someday!!! Look at it, ain't it a precious?

Who's for September? (Iman vs Halle Berry)

A red hot talk had been around town for the past few days. Rumor has it that Halle Berry will be the September Girl. no, not playboy. It's Vogue. So people had been talking about it in Fashionista.com, me included. It is said to be the first African American woman to grace the September issue since Naomi Campbell in 1989.

I personally think Iman would make a better cover feature for September. She just won the Fashion Icon Award from CFDA and if a African American woman is to be on cover, she should.

Most people think Halle is not relevant to the most important issue for Vogue. September is the fashion issue. Halle Berry does have style but recently she had been quite irrelevant. Nothing much was on her now, no news or gossip. What is there to talk about her?

Then again if she is to be the cover, Vogue might have something to share. So let's just wait for another two more months to see who's on Vogue. But I'm for Iman all the way!

He Who Embraces iPad?

iPad is on a huge hype now. Everyone wants one, though most does not know why. I, personally find no point of getting an iPad. For a student, there's not much of use to it. Why?

1. A over sized iPod touch with higher specs.
2. A minimized Macbook with lower specs.
3. Limitation in internet just like a laptop, unless you have 3G but expensive
4. Always need a weekend bag or tote to put it in, like a laptop.

So there you go, my reasons of not buying it. A student like moi, do not need it. If I want portable internet, there's my trusty Nokia E71. I want more of it, use a laptop? Duh.

Reason 1 and 2 is the main one, for me it's the same. Haha.

At the end of the day, I found a point of buying the pad. For fashion bloggers, they have use of it, especially when they are on a runway show and needs to blog immediately. That's a plus, for them. If I can go to runway shows, I would get one but I still think the charge would be too expensive for a jobless student.

But one thing's for sure, I would definitely get one of those iPad covers from Oscar De La Renta, if I have an iPad. Very chic and fab! It's coming out even before the Resort 2011 collection. If you want it, go to Oscar De La Renta.

That's my two cents. Ciao.
