Anna is on TV!

A quick one for today with Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs starring in an interview with Jimmy Fallon in his show. It's quite hilarious and fresh to see Anna not being so serious and have some humor in her. Though no matter where she is, she still has the aura of her that intimidates people.
She is the Devil Wears Prada - well, devil with the bob cut.

Marc is a fun to watch too. Enjoy, the interview on Fashion's Night Out and reliving some past experience of Anna and Marc. Love the commet by Marc, "But, unfortunately, or fortunately, one can't say no to Anna." That shows Anna's power in a way.

On another note, Anna kinda complained about Lady Gaga during her performance for Met Ball.

Enjoy!

Fashion's Night Out Updates Around The World!

Okay a short post for FNO's updates. I am doing something extremely bad here which is copy and paste. Who cares, you people just want info, right? I took this from Fashionista.com, so thank them for it. I'm just here to spread the news out to people!

London
-Giorgio Armani will be hosting an invitation only cocktail party with British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman. The gathering will take place at the designer’s store on London’ New Bond Street.
-The World of Manolo, Manolo Blahnik’s new Liberty pop-up store will be launching that night.
-There will be a number of events held at Selfridges, including a Q&A with Peter Pilotto and the unveiling of a new Mulberry shop-in-shop. Chanel will also participate, giving free manicures, which they did last year in NYC.

Sydney
-Australian Vogue will produce a fabulous Fashion’s Night Out in Sydney on September 9. All we know so far is that the night will begin at 5:30 in Martin Place and there will be a Vogue after party at Ivy. Oh, and a bunch of cute Australian designers made this video.

New York
-Macy’s Herald Square will be holding the “Ultimate Tailgate Party,” a tie-in with Tommy Hilfiger’s most recent campaign, which we actually really like. To celebrate 25 years of the American brand, there will be $25 off purchases of $100 or more, which is unusual, as most stores have not offered discounts or sales for the big night.

-At Bloomingdale’s on 59th street, GQ’s Best New Menswear Designer and CFDA Fashion Fund finalist Billy Reid will kick off his evening by presenting the debut of his exclusive collaboration with Levi’s (part of the GQ prize). After that, he’ll be heading downtown to his Bond street store for live music and lots of burbon. We’ve never not had fun at a Billy Reid event and the store’s proximity to Oak and Rogan guarantee a block party vibe.

-Around the corner at Eva New York, Timo Weiland and Farfetch.com are hosting an intimate cocktail party. The well-edited Bowery boutique will function as an intimate setting for the designers to meet with their customers and enjoy refreshments

-At Helmut Lang in the Meatpacking District, there is talk of a hipster extravaganza featuring tunes by the Misshapes (we figured they’d be djing something) and a photo installation by the Cobrasnake.

-What Goes Around Comes Around, one of our favorite vintage shops, has commissioned Pamela Love, Beth Blake and Melissa Akey of Thread Social, George McCracken and Stefan Milkanich of Gilded Age to create limited edition Custom Vintage collections to be revealed on FNO. For example, Pamela Love plans to customize 5 vintage ’60s hippie tooled leather bags, while George McCracken will create a collection of vintage repurposed surfing t-shirts from the ’80s. All of the pieces will be available for sale and all of the designers will be available for chatting at WGACA’s SoHo store on September 10.

That's all I have now, when Fashionista posts more, I will update here too.

Speaking of FNO, Australian Vogue made a video to promote FNO. It's a remake of last year's New York FNO video (intro by SJP). Watch it here > Australian VOGUE FNO!

What do you think? I think it's cute and all but isn't it like a cheap rip off? I sure hope that Vogue Oz would come up with something original and new for it. I've seen the NY one which is more nicely tune with the music and dialogue.

Here's the NY version from last year:

Vogue Oz's version is a bit out of tune. I'm not complaining!  It is cute but maybe something different next year? What do you think? "Yea, Nay or Eh?" (my rip off from Style.com)

Ciao.

Fashion Digest: FNO Everywhere; NY London Showdown!; The Cat Mius

Another digest after almost a week of absence, I am so sorry. I have lots to share but just can't decide on what yet. I have digests, couture, noetic science (Yes I know what it is) and more. So before I figure out which to post, it is already Friday and yet another weekend with no internet. So bear with me.

So let's start digesting some fabulousness!

FNO Everywhere
As all of you fashion die-hard should know, Fashion's Night Out is storming in September and not just New York. This year around, it's going international, even Sydney has it but no definite news on that.

By the way, if anyone in New York reads this, please help me get the FNO t-shirt and jumper,  want it so badly!!

So I'm here to share some of the happenings that might excite you for the event.

NYC
  • The Olsens will be in attendance to help the Proenza boys and Simon Doonan judge an in-store karaoke contest (The prize is a Proenza Schouler bag and The Row leather leggings).
  • Rachel Zoe will be on hand for the launch of Piperlime’s first ever pop-up shop. Location TBD.
  • Doonan has designed his own Havaiana flip flop, and each person who perchases a Havaiana/Doonan flip will be able to ask the store’s creative director one question. So ask wisely.
  • Go head-to-head against the designers of Rag & Bone, Rogan and Shipley & Halmos in a ping pong tournament.
  • Daphne Guinness will be signing perfume bottles
  • Andrew Yang will be exhibiting a collection of about 50 rag doll replicas of runway looks.
  • Bergdorf Goodman’s festivities are set to include a cook-off with the FDNY and a cabaret with Isaac Mizrahi.
  • Bergdorf’s will also be launching a line of exclusive New York-inspired products, including ten coats by ten different designers (including Phillip Lim and Rag & Bone among others); and a pair of TOMS shoes that feature a NYC skyline.
Berlin
  • Concept store The Corner Shop is feting the launch of the new Isabella Blow book by Thames & Hudson.
  • Galeries Lafayette Berlin will present Michael Kors‘ new Ready To Wear collection.
  • Plus, the department store is throwing an in-house casting and photo shoot for shoppers in order to find potential models for a Galeries Lafayette fashion show taking place September 30.

London

  • The West End will be the destination for Londoners. UK’s FNO promises designers and models to mingle with, “expert styling from the Vogue team,” and “superstar” appearances.
Paris
  • Avenue Montaigne, where LVMH owns a substantial amount of real estate, will be the home of Paris’ main FNO activities.
**More updates will be posted again soon =)

New York London Showdown!
So New York has always been the city with the largest amount of international brand concentration but not for long apparently. London is sounding its trumpets and challenging that thought. A business advocacy group predicted that London will override New York as the best shopping city. Personally I love New York, different atmosphere compared to London.

I think there's no competition. London's more old times and serene feel (in a way, just very British) and New York is more hip, chic and modern. So it's hard to compare but I would love to be in New York. What's your take? Click for more!

The Cat Mius?
If you know fashion, you would have guessed what the title means. Ring any bells? Some catnip might refresh your memory. Of course we are talking about Miu Miu (Prada's sub collection). So what happen was 4 different fashion mag covers featured this ruffled bust with flower applique dress within a month's time. A big achievement all thanks to Miu Miu's PR team, now named "Wily Foxes".

So thumbs up for Miu Miu. And which do you think is the best cover? I go for Lily Allen/Elle cover or Freja in Vogue British! What's your take?
